course.
NEW:
the deadline for the paper has been extended to Monday, March 29 (without tutorial) and
Thursday, April 1 (with tutorial). Tutorials will be held on March 29 and March
30. I emphasize that this is NOT an
April Fool's joke.
The
readings from Ovid, Metamorphoses, will comprise Books I and VI. Friday's
discussion will focus on Apollo and Daphne and Tereus,
Procne, and Philomela.
The
readings from Apuleius, Metamorphoses/Golden Ass, will comprise Books I and II
(= chapters 1 through 11), Book V (= chapter 22, Amor/Cupid
and Psyche), and Book XI (chapters 47 and 48). Ideally, you should also read Book III (through chapter 17),
which tells how Lucius is turned into a donkey.
