If you are interested in seeing
my c.v., please feel free to contact me via my employer at (519) 884-1970.
Because of numerous requests for
information about international adoption,
especially from the People's Republic of China, I now have a page with
links to more detailed information.
I would encourage anyone concerned
about human rights worldwide to peruse the site of Amnesty
International.
My home e-mail account is
named after our black cat Antonia, who died in March of 2002. Shortly afterward,
we went to the Guelph Humane Society
for another cat. Shae had been abandoned as an adolescent in an apartment
along with an adult male cat and their litter of four newborn kittens.
There was a happy ending for all of the cats; as you can see, Shae (on
the right) is in no pain in this picture, taken in May of 2003 with our
grande dame Vera, who was nearly seventeen years old when the photo was
taken.
Vera, alas, died of cancer on April
4, 2005. She was nineteen years old or nearly so. Shortly before her death,
we began to obtain information about young cats from some of the local
humane societies. The Cambridge
and District Humane Society kindly allowed us to add Hermione,
a former stray about nine months old, to our family. Her photograph is
below. The Cambridge and District Humane Society, like the Guelph Humane
Society and Amnesty International, is a registered charity for Canadian
income tax purposes.
